Don Dokken is an American musician. He is the lead singer and occasional guitarist of the heavy metal band Dokken. He is the son of Eleanor Ann (Marshall) and Jerrold Maynard Dokken.
Don’s paternal grandfather was Maynard Alfred Dokken (the son of Martin Olson Dokken and Anne Kristine “Annie” Olsdatter Langedragslien, later Lien). Maynard was born in Minnesota. Martin was the son of Norwegian emigrants, Helge Olsen Otterdokken and Kari (later Caroline “Carrie”) Fingarsdatter Bakken, both of Nes, Buskerud. Anne was a Norwegian emigrant, from Bagn, Sør-Aurdal, Oppland, and was the daughter of Ole Gulbrandsen Langedragslien (later Lien) and Karen Finsdatter.
Don’s paternal grandmother was Helen Martha Hatlestad (the daughter of John Martin Nielsen Hatlestad and Herborg Hansdatter Sandal, later Hattie Henderson). Helen was born in Iowa. John was the son of Norwegian emigrants, Niels Torstensen Hatlestad and Martha Pedersdatter Egge, of Gran, Oppland. Hattie was a Norwegian emigrant, from Fana (now part of Bergen), Hordaland, and was the daughter of Hans Engel Stensen Sandal (later Henderson) and Martha Jensine Andersdatter Gjemdal.
